Proudly opening our new children’s homes

We’re delighted to announce the formal opening of our two new children’s homes.

‘Vella House’ in East Suffolk, and ‘Arva House’ near Ipswich, have been formally inspected and registered by Ofsted inspectors.

Both can accommodate three children who have been assessed as needing to live outside of a family environment.

Each of the homes is managed and staffed, 24 hours a day, by a team of professionals who each work to support and care for the children, responding to their individual needs and circumstances, and working with them towards positive outcomes.

Care provided at the home is based on our therapeutic ‘practice model’, which centres around the voice of the child and a relational approach to achieving the best outcomes. Each child is assessed from the start of their time in care, with a view to providing the best possible therapeutic interventions to support positive outcomes.

CF Group Therapeutic Lead Anji Wilks oversees this approach, and works with team members and children to embed a relational approach to everything they do.

The opening of the homes increases our homes provision to four, with a capacity to accommodate a total of 12 children. Our established homes in Felixstowe and Ipswich are rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted.

Ofsted Registered Manager Andy Robinson-Watts said: “It’s an important milestone for us to formally open these homes. We’ve been working hard for many months to create the best possible home environment at each, and to recruit and train the right people for these important roles.

“Each home has been designed to offer a nurturing, homely environment for the young people we’ll be caring for. Our ultimate goal is to provide them with a home setting in which they feel supported and cared for, whilst we work with them towards happy and positive futures.

“I’d like to thank every member of our team that has worked so hard to create these homes. I’m confident we’ll play an important and influential role in the lives of children and families that need our help.”
