Teacher Training Specialist joins our growing education team

We’re delighted to welcome the newest member to our education division.

Charlie Simmans joined us in May as our Education Team Development Manager, and will be leading the ongoing recruitment of tutors, whilst also focusing on continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for our team.

Charlie has extensive experience of working in the further and higher education industries. Having originally worked in early years education as a teacher, she went on to become a lecturer in early years education then taught and managed teacher training across colleges and higher education providers, whilst also running CPD delivery.

Charlie’s role is newly created and involves promoting the many career opportunities available within our education team, alongside running a programme of quality assurance monitoring and implementing new development opportunities.

Charlie explains, “I was keen to take on this role as I saw it as an opportunity to continue to make a difference in education. CF’s goal is to make education accessible for all, and to support young people back into mainstream education. I have so much experience in the sector, so know I can have an impact by developing and supporting the team, which has grown so rapidly.

“I’ll be making sure we have ongoing professional development opportunities for all staff, so that we can grow and nurture from within, as well as recruiting from outside. I have so many ideas I want to pursue and I’m excited about working with such a creative and dedicated team.

“I have been out visiting colleagues in practice and it’s wonderful what an impact I’m seeing them make in terms of the learning experiences they’re creating for each young person. A colleague was recently delivering her session for a young person online, and the young person and parent were in their kitchen whilst she ran a cooking session. This is a great example of how our tutors make an impact with practical life skills, even when they’re not physically with their young person. They think outside of the box to get the best outcomes, and I’m looking forward to helping grow this even further through the learning and best practice opportunities we can offer our team.”
